Sanganeri print is a traditional form of hand block printing originating from Sanganer, a town in Jaipur Rajasthan. It is known for its intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and use of natural dyes. The process typically involves hand-carved wooden blocks that are dipped in natural dyes and then stamped onto the fabric. Sanganeri prints often feature floral motifs, paisleys, and geometric designs. This art form has been practiced for centuries and continues to be valued for its beauty and craftsmanship. Sanganeri printed fabrics are commonly used in clothing, home furnishings, and other decorative items.

Jaipuri leheriya (also spelled leheria) is another traditional textile art form originating from the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. The word “Leheriya” comes from the Hindi word “Leher,” which means wave, and the technique involves creating distinctive wave-like patterns on the fabric.

Leheriya involves tie-dyeing the fabric in such a way that it produces wave-like patterns, resembling the rippling of water. The process typically begins with folding the fabric diagonally and then tying it with threads at regular intervals. After tying, the fabric is dyed in vibrant colors, usually using natural dyes, and then left to dry. Once dried, the threads are removed, revealing the beautiful wave-like patterns.

Leheriya fabrics are commonly used in traditional Rajasthani attire such as lehengas (skirts), sarees, dupattas (scarves), and turbans. They are also used in various other garments and accessories. The bright colors and intricate patterns of Jaipuri leheriya make it popular not only in Rajasthan but also across India and internationally. It represents the rich cultural heritage and skilled craftsmanship of Rajasthan.
